Everything is new with the rebuild: there are news!
This winter there are a lot of new things on the Arlberg and also at our hotel Die Arlbergerin a lot has changed. In our last Blogpost
we have gathered all the news from our hotel and the ski area for you. But there is one little thing we have not told you yet… the name
Names have stories. They tell of long forgotten times or dare a look into the future. Names evoke emotions. They remind us of certain moments, hours or days. But names are also always full of secrets. The name alone never tells the whole story. So today we’d like to take you with us and look at the story behind our new name.
Tyrolean tradition
Our story has many facets. Tradition is a big part of it. Already in the third generation we, Barbara and Mathias Kometer, run the Hotel Die Arlbergerin and the Pension Der Steinbock. But tradition by no means means standstill for us. For us, it means above all that we must also look ahead. Dare to take a look into the future. That is why we combine Tyrolean tradition with modernity in all our hotel areas. Thus, we also use traditional materials such as Tyrolean pine for our new rooms and combine them with modern equipment. We are constantly developing, but do not forget our roots – this is also reflected in our new name.
Our family business
We are a family business and continue the family history as siblings. Our grandmother opened one of the first accommodations in St. Anton am Arlberg back then. At a time when guests were still called strangers. In the meantime, strangers have become friends and guests have become family. We owe this above all to our parents, who have shaped our company with heart and soul. As a cook, our mother not only conjured up delicious dishes, but also regularly put a smile on the faces of her guests. Cooking is her passion and so Die Arlbergerin was soon known for its excellent cuisine throughout the Arlberg. On special occasions, Mama Roswitha still likes to wield the wooden spoon today. With this same passion we also continue to run our family business. Our new name therefore also emphasizes our connection with our own history.
Lived hospitality
In our family business our guests come first. We are passionate about hosting and taking care of our guests personally. As Arlbergers we are deeply connected with our home St. Anton am Arlberg. We would like to convey this feeling of home to every single guest who spends their vacation with us. That is why our new name also resonates with a touch of our homeland.
The tension rises
We still keep it these days with Einstein, who said, “The most beautiful thing we can experience is the mysterious.” So our name shall also remain our secret for a short time. Maybe you already have an idea what it will be? In any case, we are looking forward to presenting our new name and logo to you very soon. Be curious.
