Winter sports on the Arlberg
Even away from the slopes and deep snow slopes, the Arlberg has many winter sports experiences in store for you. There are a total of four toboggan runs in the ski resorts on the Arlberg. A very special experience are the regularly held toboggan evenings. A little less racy, but just as sporty, is the approximately 40 kilometers of cross-country ski trails around St. Anton am Arlberg. For all winter lovers who prefer to explore the mountain landscape on foot, numerous winter hiking trails on the mountain and in the valley invite you to enjoy. We are happy to advise you on all winter sports activities on the Arlberg, so that your winter vacation is guaranteed to be unforgettable.
Two in one stroke – news from Ski Arlberg
From December 2021, there will be two new lifts to admire on the Arlberg. In Zug near Lech, the new Zugerbergbahn will have room for 10 people per gondola. The circulating gondola lift halves the previous travel time and covers the 600 meters in altitude from the valley to the mountain in 4:30 minutes. The lift also has a lot to offer in terms of architecture. The gondola station in the valley and the top station have been built underground. This means that in future the Balmalp ski hut at the top station will also be accessible to pedestrians without winter sports equipment. The Madloch lift in Zürs will also be sporting a new look from this winter. A heated 6-seater chairlift replaces the previous double chairlift. This means skiers can get from Zürs to Zug and Lech even faster and more comfortably.
Modern architecture meets alpine comfort
Imagine waking up after a restful night and the first thing you see are the snow-capped peaks of the Alps. Not on TV or on a wallpaper, but truly in front of you. Our new panorama rooms at “Das Sonnbichl” make this possible. Watch from your bed through the large panoramic windows as the mountain world around St. Anton awakens. The only question is: do you want to get up or stay in bed for a while? Our other 15 newly designed rooms also invite you to stay and relax. Each room has its own highlight to discover. What they all have in common is the modern alpine architecture, combined with the highest comfort for your well-being.
New concept – familiar Tyrolean hospitality
Not only structurally has a lot changed at “Das Sonnbichl”. For us, being modern also means rethinking old concepts. That’s why we want to give you more flexibility during your vacation. This means that we say goodbye to rigid times for breakfast, dinner or sauna. Breakfast is now available for early birds and late risers from 07:30 to 11:00. Instead of the classic half board, you now have even more choice for dinner. Either you decide to dine in one of our three restaurant areas: Sonnbichlstube, Feinschmeckerei or Bar. Or you explore the restaurants in and around St. Anton am Arlberg. We have also extended the sauna hours for you. From now on, our wellness area also invites you to relax in the early afternoon and in the evening.
Times of change
Not only modern rooms and a new concept await you during your winter vacation at “Das Sonnbichl” 2021/2022. There are many other changes at our place that will make your most beautiful time of the year that little bit more beautiful. Our newly designed entrance area ensures a successful vacation start right at the beginning. Afterwards, how about a drink at our completely renovated bar? The buffet area now also presents itself in a more modern guise. So that you don’t have to worry about your car during your vacation, we now also have covered parking spaces. Wind and weather are no longer a problem. Advent singing and Christmas market – always something going on at the Arlberg
Everything is prepared and we can hardly wait for the season to start. Do you feel the same way? To shorten the waiting time and increase the anticipation, we have compiled our event highlights in December for you. Also this year there will be the Christmas experience trail “Adventzauber” at the museum in St. Anton am Arlberg. In addition to regional delicacies and homemade goods, there is much to discover for young and old. On the eve of St. Nicholas Day, St. Anton is then firmly in the hands of the Arlberg Pass Krampalar. The scary creatures, who not only teach children to be afraid, parade through the pedestrian zone in St. Anton am Arlberg. A traditional spectacle that you should not miss. There is also a lot going on in the other villages on the Arlberg, such as the Advent Singing in Pettneu or the Nativity scene exhibition in Strengen.
We look forward to welcoming you again soon at “Die Arlbergerin”.
Kind regards from St. Anton am Arlberg
